As I've mentioned before i've had an idea for a Fifa 13 League...... It may need us to advertise this elsewhere to gain numbers but I would love for this to catch on.

Thought I would run my ideas past you guys first as you may think of some improvements or even dislike my idea altogether.

Right, each person in the league can select any club team they want (I've reserved Arsenal for myself lol)...... BUT there are rules and restrictions which will hopefully level out the playing field a little.

Rule 1 - Eachplayer is only allowed 4 "star players" in they're 16 man squad.

How do you know who is a star player? Simple. Any player that is rated 80 or over is classed as a star player.

Rule 2 - you can only have a maximum of 4 players from the same team.

eg: I could select Iniesta, Messi, David Villa and Fabregas for my squad but I can't have anymore Barca players (or star players in this case as all of them are rated over 80)

Rule 3 - Each person is to select a 16 man squad (starting 11 and 5 subs)

In the interest of keeping things simple... Injuries and cards will NOT be carried over to the next game... There would be too much to record and make things confusing IMO.

Rule 4 - Each player can only feature in one team

Eg: If I was to "sign" Messi..... No other player can.

There could be more that I've thought of but forgot to list here...... Want to know anymore or have any ideas or concerns.... Just post them up

how r we going to keep track of other players teams through out the league and isnt it fairer to just pick normal squads ?

If we went down the above "Fantasy" teams route..... Each person would have to submit they're squad.

It would be up to the players to confirm that no one "illegal" was used in there after match results posts.

thats a lot of trust y dont we do cups as 2 star teams then 3 then 4 etc least we will have the same competition?

Or could do a league and a cup with teams that are 4* rated and below!?

I remember we did a similar thing at ARC back in the day with international teams.

Mind you, I wouldnt be surprised if Arsenal are a 4* team now

Only reason I thought of that is i get bored of seeing the same names in my team when I play....... Using another team entirely would solve that problem for me so I'm up for doing it that way

I wonder If we could get a group of players and put them in a transfer kity and ur only allowed 1 or 2 transfers but the players u swap for them go back in to the kity ? Im easy either way just trying to keep it simple so we can keep a track of it . And we can create a Speedfreaks club for the club seasons

the other question how would we play it would we play one and another online then post the result?

Yeah, you arrange a day and time that's best for you and your opponent......play the game, post the result.... once your opponent posts confirming it, the league/ cup table will be updated

I'm not sure you have to when you play friends...... I know there's a way around it

ok cool so we can go with ur original plan then? what bout if we have 4 four star players we are only allowed 1 from a team so u cant get 4 barca player for example?

That would be an idea but I don't want to restrict people too much...... I know what I listed above may sound complicated but once you select your squad you'll realise how easy it actually is.

I got the inspiration for this from another site I used to post on but there's was much more complicated...... They had transfer windows, contracts, signing on fees, wages..... All too much for me so I created this.... A dumbed down version that puts more emphasis on having fun in the game.

I find that the 4 star player rule can be quite tactical..... Do you go for a star keeper? Defence? Attack? Or a bit of everything?

Using a site that I found earlier, containing (what they say will be) the Fifa 13 player ratings, I've already picked my 16 man squad..... Haven't been greedy either as I'm more bothered about keeping things fun and fair.

No mate....... There's so many players to choose from, it's kind of hard to narrow your star players down.

Messi, Ronaldo, Fabregas, Iniesta, Xavi, Alonso, Aguero, Yaya Toure, Hazard, Torres, Song..... The list is huge

Only other way to do that would be to list all players, like numbers on a bingo card etc, and as one is taken cross them off.

But looking at this something simple would be the way to go...
I'll talk about advertising in another post, but it's good to see the though/debate regardless.
